Astrological Weather Forecast May 2025

Tensions might have somewhat eased since the last couple of months with less volatile commotion… however, if it's not one thing, it's the other. When referencing the sky relative to the earthly plane, it's no different; there is always something going on. There is much to unpack when considering the month of May… and if we're observant, patient, deliberate, and tactful… we might find ourselves making a breakthrough in our awareness or plucking a gem from the cosmic consciousness continuum. May the force be with us all, and with some grace and intention, we the ensouled inhabitants of humanity have the potential and power to interact with more awareness and leave the world better than we found it.

As the month begins, we charge right in but might not know exactly what we're ramming ahead at with Venus in Aries conjunct Neptune at 1° on May 2nd. This can knock us wobbly and seeing stars, leaving us dazed and confused. Venus is now exiled in Aries; this kick-off to May induces a Venus that's already not the most Venusian to endure extra challenges, possibly becoming disoriented. Such a Venus doesn't mind shooting its shot and being impulsive towards its desires; this can be a great expression that might get what it wants since it just went for it. The problem here with Neptune present is it may be pursuing smoke and mirrors, getting all amped up to duel with a seductive opponent when it's really just a projection of its own hot and steamy pent-up energy reflected back.

The next day on May 4th, we have Pluto in Aquarius going retrograde at 3°. Pluto transits are very slow with this particular one in Aquarius spanning about two decades. We had a substantial amount of Plutonic undercurrents present last month with the opposition to Mars in Leo, a square from the Sun in Taurus creating a T-square, plus another square from Lilith in Scorpio, and if we are to consider this (it's always wise to consider the Lilith in the world and within all of us), we have a staggeringly potent fixed Grand Cross. Pluto now stationing retrograde can be a further deep dive into revision and integrating whatever shadows, intensity, or morbidity had festered up to the surface.

Considering all things Pluto, in my experience with many Plutonic episodes throughout my life, it's much more preferable to face the music compared to pretending the dark, omnipresent phantom in the room is not there. By doing this, the resistance ceases to have power. In following this golden thread, the gems that can be plucked from the depths are some of the most important, valuable things we can acquire while in human bodies. It won't be easy, probably scary enough it will make you sh*t your pants, bringing complete metaphorical death and transformation processes to the forefront of the individual journey.

Only then does one turn the insides out, becoming what it had been holding back in fear, blooming into a more whole self-expression that we've always had lying latent in our very essence. This can appear to be and feel like the most effed-up situations imaginable, in this becoming more terrifyingly violent the more it’s swept under the rug. The sacred gift of alchemy can actualize if we're willing to shine light on what's hidden beneath the surface and don't accuse it of being a demon but recognize it as a necessary force of nature constantly stirring in the underworld of the earthbound plane.

Soon after on May 5th, we see Mercury in Aries sextile Jupiter in Gemini at 22°. The fire-spitting communication, commerce, and consciousness of Mercury in Aries is all systems go being fine by the dualistic two-sided or many simultaneously expansive directions of Jupiter in Gemini. There is major consensus at this time with a firenado whirlwinding ablaze.

Next we get the second in a line of Aries action with a cardinal fire Venus sextile newly retrograde Pluto in Aquarius at 3° on May 6th. This is like a moth drawn to a flame, with the air current generated by supersonic flaps sustaining a growing fire while feeding the nocturnal being that's made it through the inferno of pyrocatharsis; the spiritual essence essential to transform that much more otherworldly supernatural. The support here fortifies each said undergone process, and despite being exiled and still in its shadow this gives Venus immense power. Pluto even though pretty much at a standstill since recently going retrograde is reveling in the flames of the underworld growing ever higher.

The cherry on top at this time is Mercury conjunct Chiron in Aries at 24° later in the day on May 6th. Through the sextiles from the Aries planets to planets in the air signs, we have the ability to put words to the wounds of the assertive self, offering a dialogue of knowledge needed to teach others what it may take to heal themselves individually. This healing journey driven by that which seemed inescapable in one’s life for quite some time has a short window where it is especially brought forth in individual consciousness being articulated and reasoned with. Being able to grasp such deep awareness is helping to bless those with similar issues, teaching sacred healing tradition initiates that may be surrounding.

May 10th, Mercury ingresses into Taurus as the Moon moves into Scorpio creating an opposition at 0°. This is a sort of culminating aspect reminiscent of a Full Moon, but with Mercury being reflected instead of the Sun. Interestingly, it is at a sensitive critical degree of 0° which in itself brings a certain potent potentiality to what is coming through. It is also foreshadowing and an appetizer, prepping the palate towards the main dish of the Full Moon in just a couple of days.

The first lunation of the month is on May 12th showcasing a Full Moon in Scorpio at 22° with the Sun close enough to be considered conjunct Uranus at 27°. This entices some groundbreaking innovation, like a radiating idea light bulb shining onto a lit-up la Luna with possible developments seeming weirdly random no one could have seen coming. Other aspects of the day worth noting are Uranus a degree away from sextiling Saturn at 28° Pisces adding some follow-through to Uranian endeavors; Mercury in Taurus squaring Pluto in Aquarius at 3° wedging some unsaid challenges and power plays into the dialogue; and a yod consisting of a sextile from Jupiter in Gemini at 23° to Chiron in Aries at 24° both casting quincunxes to the Moon in Scorpio telling us there is at least two or more sides to this story of the individual healing—giving a chance to take the emotional dive deeper or let go of that which is not able to be merged and assimilated in this process. There is some trickiness to this lunation… however, I find the Uranian component exciting and promising.

Next up there is May 17th after a brief mid-month intermission. The Sun-Uranus conjunction is now exact at 27°, blaring the light that much more brilliantly on the Uranian ah-ha invention that's been coming through or anything unexpected that came up that we weren't sure about is now established as definitely a thing. A trine coming in from the Capricorn Moon seconds the support from Saturn in Pisces in this equation; concrete results are looking good.

The same day on May 17th Mercury in Taurus squares Mars in Leo at 13°. The discussion turned sideways from stable on the behalf of a prideful Mars, perhaps causing an uproar or resembling a bull in a china shop seeing red then immediately goring with no apprehension. Venus in Aries ruling over Mercury in Taurus is coming in only a degree away from making a trine to Mars in Leo, signaling this could be more bark than it is bite or the red cape lifted at the perfect spot for the bull to charge right out the side door without breaking a single item.

Some of the secret sauce of this time is the sextile from Jupiter in Gemini to Chiron in Aries that has been present, perfecting May 18th at 25°. The inquisitive but very silly Jupiter in Gemini has been a fabulous dose of medicine for what ails the hurt wounding in the driven individual. This allows the painful process to be more enjoyable if healing can occur under not-so-heavy conditions.

The Sun in Taurus at the anaretic last degree sextiles Saturn in Pisces on May 20th right before the Sun moves into Gemini, and just a few days before Saturn's looming ingress into Aries. The Sun is still electrified since its recent conjunction with Uranus, so it's definitely going to color this. It is also the last Ptolemaic aspect Saturn makes before the shift to Aries giving this a lasting flavor departure energy. There's in some ways, extra exaggerated potency with Saturn on full, not only because it's at the last critical degree, but also because it's at the last degree of the zodiac having a colossal change in the beginning of a new cycle. The Sun moves into Gemini a little past noon that day, lighting things up now copresent Jupiter. Another mood changer is the Sun now is only a degree away from sextiling Neptune in Aries. Gemini might actually revel in the multiplicity of uncertainty coming through with Neptune striking a chord with its curious side, attempting to decipher kaleidoscope puzzle pieces.

May 22nd Venus in Aries' trine to Mars in Leo goes exact at 15°. The Goddess of Love is on harmonious terms with the God of War at this time. There are very spicy and playful undertones with this type of expression. Have fun and get the most out of this kinda energy while the getting is good. Also perfecting that day is the Sun in Gemini's sextile Neptune in Aries, which will align to the minute. As forewarned, Gemini might be having too much of a blast with the synergy to Neptune in Aries trying to figure questions that have no answers while skipping down the road with a traveling circus. As if that wasn't already enough, the Moon reflects the spotlight on Saturn still at the anaretic last degree of Pisces, then Neptune at 1° Aries going over both by midday. These archetypes surely are a part of the ambience in the background as all this plays out.

May 24th could perhaps be the biggest day of the month with plenty to write home about! First up we have the Sun in Gemini trine Pluto retrograde in Aquarius at 3°. This multifaceted version of the Sun is in the know and already has a relatively thorough understanding of the degradation and transformation taking place in the sign of the water bearer. Even with Pluto moving slower than a snail's pace backwards, the Sun in Gemini will continue to push this prerogative forward.

Second to bat is Mercury in Taurus conjunct Uranus at 27°. A fixed earth Mercury often can be simple-minded, grounded in perspective, usually practical with the matters at hand. All bets are off when you add Uranus to the mix; what was fundamental and functional is now surpassing barriers and doing the unfathomable. If there is one conjunction that will turn the whole thing upside down, conjuring what has yet to be conceived, it's this one regardless of sign!!

For the finale we've got the main event y'all have been waiting for: Saturn enters Aries!!! This has been a long time coming, but not quite the long haul, as Saturn will briefly retrograde back into Pisces later this year. Here we are getting our first inclinations of Saturn in Aries in addition to coming in to conjunct Neptune with them retrograding together back into Pisces in the latter half of 2025. The martial cardinal fire, often viewed as youthful, has been grounded having limitations imposed, being forced to grow up. The Neptune factor is possibly making it difficult to find the direction to drive forward, confusing the actual adversary in martial interactions. A positive variation could be boundaries being softened and compassion extended, helping to see the maturation of one's self through. This ingress is a huge one for us each in our own lives and for all collectively that will definitely be a part of a paradigm change not too far ahead.

Mercury enters its domicile of Gemini the next day on May 25th. Mercury here is quick, witty, clever, cunning, flirty, articulate, and thought-provoking, as well as can also talk out of both sides of its mouth, be evasive, take flight, be unaccountable, dramatize, or indiscriminate about information for information's sake. Pretty much immediately upon entering Gemini Mercury sextiles Saturn in Aries at 0° and 4 arc minutes. Here Mercury is taking the lead in helping a not-yet-settled and uncertain Saturn start to understand the lay of the new turf, becoming a little more oriented.

The following day, on May 26th, the Mercury sextile aspect switches from Saturn to Neptune in true Gemini fashion who is known for "twinning" in many situations. Heightened emphasis is placed here with the Moon in Gemini going right over Mercury at 1° during this time, setting the mood towards the New Moon later that day. The New Moon at 6° Gemini has an extra Mercurial flavor, giving plenty of potential to tap into saplings that likely grow from efforts put forth. This not only will influence the New Moon that day but also the coming Gemini lunation cycle towards the New Moon later this year.

May 27th is a continuation of all the Gemini buzz, Mercury in Gemini trines Pluto retrograde in Aquarius at 3°. This transmits the conversation coming through heighted twin activity surrounding the New Moon to the Lord of the underworld retracting backwards. Such knowledge will be implemented in the process of inching slow-mo backwards towards the greater transformation going forwards.

The last aspect of the month occurs on May 30th as the climax of Gemini-mania, so to speak, with a Mercury Cazimi at 9°. Mercury is at home in Gemini, making this brand of Cazimi extra souped up. The only Cazimi that might be more potent could be a Cazimi in Virgo since it is its place of exaltation traditionally, but I wouldn't say it is better… perhaps just more concentrated and discerning. Making the most of this supercharged Mercury Cazimi emblazoned in the chariot of the Sun on the tail end of all of this Gemini action is a great way to close out the month of May.
