Astrological Weather Highlights July 2025

The month of July has some calms in the storm plus some major changes, twists, and turns. The first aspect of the month is a doozy, with Venus conjunct Uranus in Taurus at 29°, the anaretic last degree of the sign on July 4th, handing off the baton to Uranus's ingress into Gemini a few days later. In addition, we will go over this month's lunations including the New Moon in Leo opposite Pluto where intense could be an understatement when considering all of the contributing factors.

Venus rules over Taurus and this conjunction is the last aspect coming through before Uranus moves into Gemini for the first time just several days away. Uranus in a sense is the antithesis of Taurus's Venusian modus operandi, since Taurus is grounded being fixed in its approach. On the other hand, Uranus's job is to turn the whole thing upside down, erratically revolutionizing what's dated no longer serving. The long and the short of it: Taurus doesn't like change, but Uranus will bring extreme change whether you like it or not.

Currently we're at the pinnacle precipice of Uranus's time in Taurus at the anaretic last degree, which is in itself a culminating point. Then throw Taurus's ruler Venus in the mix, then we have an epic Uranian finale that is very much Venus-Taurus-centric. Don't be surprised if any lingering earthy stability or value that's been hanging on by a thread in the house that Taurus occupies in your chart is finally revolutionized for the long haul.

This could be the epitome of beauty that hits different, a twist in love you could have never imagined in your wildest dreams, or hitting the jackpot out of seemingly nowhere. It could also decimate what you've tried to hold on to for a sense of stable comfort despite a stagnant situation having been shook up to the point of no return.

Later in the day on July 4th, Venus shifts into Gemini now sextile to Saturn/Neptune with Neptune going retrograde that afternoon. This change to Gemini could be a precursor of things to come with the imminent jolt of Uranus into the sign.

Then the highly anticipated lightning bolt moment of the month occurs on July 7th with Uranus darting into Gemini for the first time. Uranus in Gemini is a radical switch-up of Uranian flavor from Taurus, with there being a heck of a lot more commonality between the two.

Gemini is an air sign and is one of the signs ruled by Mercury. With this established Gemini is known to be quick, witty, genius, quirky, clever, communicative, and sometimes 2-faced… or 50-faced would probably be more accurate actually. Uranus has been prescribed by some "modern" Astrologers to rule over another air sign Aquarius: with it showing up often times as sudden unexpected developments, the weirdest of the weird, consensus-shattering breakthroughs, innovations that take things to the next level, rebellions that destroy structures to be rebuilt, and technological advancements.

Gemini and Uranus energies complement each other so well with their inherent agility, ingenuity, strangeness, and instantaneous change at a moment's notice being prominent expressions. Though with both it’s wise to be mindful of the cliché to expect the unexpected, this transit will be so potent we can be certain virtually nothing stays the same on the other side in the areas of life it disrupts.

Later that same day, Venus in Gemini trines over to Pluto retrograde in Aquarius at 3°, again possibly foreshadowing how the mini grand trine (a trine with a planet sextile to both from the middle) of the outer transpersonal planets could begin to play out as it continues to become the common theme moving forward.

A few days after on July 10th, we have the first lunation of the month with the Capricorn Full Moon at 18°. This Full Moon is ruled by Saturn in Aries conjunct Neptune, who has gone newly retrograde signaling a time of revision in the Saturn/Neptune Aries narrative and the opening act of the Neptune Aries story just starting to unfold. The lunation is squared by sign to its ruler in this combo, illustrating there will likely be some difficult disruptions coming up at this time. Limitations and reorienting to the rules may present challenging lessons to the individual self.

There is some positive reinforcement though coming through with a trine over to Mars in Virgo, perhaps being serviceable in seeking to discern what is useful for the building blocks of the Saturn Aries structure starting to be built. Three days after on July 13th, Saturn goes retrograde at 1° Aries suggesting that the lunation may have been the catalyst to restructure the blueprint before construction proceeds.

Fast forward to July 22nd, the Sun enters its home sign of Leo where it right away sextiles Uranus in Gemini still at 0°. This adds fire to the flame that Uranus is known for stealing from the Gods to be offered up to humanity. Also it should be noted the Sun will now be co-present Mercury who went retrograde on July 17th at 15° in the sign of the lion. The planet of the messenger continues its apparent motion backwards for the entirety of Leo season.

Then two days following the beginning of Leo season, we have the New Moon in Leo at 2° on July 24th. This is a supercharged New Moon contributing immensely to triggering the mini grand trine that's just beginning to unravel.

It is trine to Saturn/Neptune, both retrograde in Aries and now less than 15 arc minutes away from an exact conjunction. Since it's a trine aspect between two of the fire signs, the Sun and Moon are likely harmonizing with the two planets in reverse, though probably restructuring/reimagining nonetheless. The sextile to Uranus in Gemini is still very much present here as well, so get ready for that which you can't be ready for.

The heaviest-hitting part of this lunation is the opposition to Pluto retrograde in Aquarius at 2°. This undeniably will go deep, setting further into motion whatever metamorphosis is coming to fruition at a snail's pace over the coming decades. To be honest, this could be violent and frightening, so I'd suggest bracing for that possibility. But at the same time, it's important to not fight the undertow of the catharsis being channeled here; with Pluto that only makes matters worse ultimately stunting the growth we're being asked to embrace.
