Astrological Weather Highlights August 2025

A little late to the party this month… I took an impromptu trip out of town in the spirit of embracing this new Uranus in Gemini madness. With that said I have not been able to make the time to write my month-ahead highlights. Alas, the show must go on… It’s better late than never so here we go!

The first day I want to make sure to note is August 11th where we see Mercury station direct in Leo in addition to Venus conjunct exalted Jupiter in Cancer. This is probably the most potent powerhouse day of the month, in my opinion. Mercury goes direct at 4° degrees of Leo in the early morning hours, helping us to wake up with a sense that any deliberations or rethinking we’ve been going through are ready to be enacted and expressed in the coming weeks. Mercury will still be moving through its shadow so expect course correction or edits at this time with implementation towards next developments once past the shadow degrees. Mercury is also copresent the Sun at home in Leo, in observing this there is a certain brilliance and brightness to Mercury sure to shine light on whatever topics have been coming up this Mercury retrograde.

Around the same time early in the morning on August 11th Venus joins Jupiter at 13° but doesn’t perfect the conjunction until late in the evening at 14°. Considering this we will have a lot of the exact benefic goodness ringing out into the following day. Venus in Cancer is one of my favorite versions of Venus; it’s sweet, caring, nurturing, and truly invested in what it loves. The flip side is it can be needy, clingy, and possessive, just fyi. Conjoining Jupiter, who is said traditionally to be exalted in Cancer makes this all sorts of splendid!! There is a buoyancy with great abundance through a giving philosophy extending gracious blessings to all it cares for. Venus and Jupiter are also traditionally known as the lesser and greater benefics; with this positive combo it's about as “good” as it gets. Make the most of this aspect window starting a few days before leading up to it and then several days after. Such alignments are truly awesome sauce and maybe the best aspect of the entire Summer… or even year!

Honorable mentions should be included for August 11th include the Moon going over its North Node currently in Pisces, plus Saturn retrograde in Aries sextile Uranus in Gemini perfecting. The Moon moving over its North Node at 18° Pisces indicates this is a part of the developing story for the current nodal cycle. It could be wise to not go overboard in whatever wonderful expressions are coming through the Venus-Jupiter conjunction, as Jupiter rules Pisces. The North Node is known for overindulgences, and this is a downfall expression of Jupiter too. 

Saturn retrograde in Aries has been in the proximity of sextiling Uranus in Gemini since Uranus entered the sign of the Twins last month. Since this is not anything all that new, we’ve been feeling it already, but will be of extra prominence around the day of going exact at 1° 12 arc minutes. Now is a reassessment time of Saturn’s construction project just in the first phases of work in Aries that's well supported by the mental ingenuity of Uranus in Gemini. Such a collaboration could be integral to the developing Saturn-Aries narrative we will experience continuing to be built. Neptune is right there at the same degree, just not perfecting to the minute at the moment. Neptunes presence will add a certain spaciness making daydreams an accessible route for bringing potentials into reality. Stay aware and careful not to get lost wandering off the deep end into a seascape lala land, losing the practicality Saturn is offering.

The next thing I want to make sure has some coverage this month is an extended sextile from Mercury, now direct in Leo, to Libra Mars at 4°-8° August 14th through August 20th. The sextile starts coming into play a little before Mercury stations and will continue toward the last week of August. What prolongs this sextile is Mercury is SOOOO much slower than usual as it starts moving forward, maintaining roughly the same pace as Mars for several days. For the span noted, they’re moving almost in percise time exacting a sextile for four days straight. Though Mars is exiled in Libra, I think this style of Mars is actually just what the doctor ordered, as it's precisely what we need considering contemporary affairs. Working together with a Leo Mercury that has rethought its position and how it will present itself seems to be a great combination that will be effectively diplomatic while holding a strong stance. This is a very intriguing signature aspect for August that is sure to speak to how it unfolds on multiple levels.

The final day I want to highlight for the month is August 22nd when we have the Sun entering Virgo, immediately after the ingress we experience the Moon also entering Virgo conjoining the Sun for the New Moon in Virgo that showcases a few other configurations as well. The Virgo New Moon will be at 0° and is quincunx(also known as inconjunct) to Saturn and Neptune in Aries as well as to Pluto in Aquarius, all of which are retrograde. The quincunxes sextile each other creating a yod that points up to the New Moon in Virgo, suggesting this lunation is key to current cosmic unfoldings. Pay special attention, focusing on what is being birthed at this time to utilize the information coming through towards the next steps forward. 

But that’s not all folks! The Virgo New Moon is also square to Uranus in Gemini!! This could mean random and jarring characteristics showing up, likely making the topics coming through frustrating. Squares are often thought of as not desirable aspects, but the tension they bring forth can be very creative and constructive. Both Virgo and Gemini are ruled by Mercury, who is now direct indicating a heady time of forward thinking, and with Uranus involved in this mix it is that much more in cerebral brainiac mode. A high expression of this lunation could result in inventive lightbulb moments striking like bolts of lightning that are not only practical but also efficiently applicable. Though short-circuiting is a possibility, this ultimately will be a positive development, adding to the Mercurial Uranian adventure leading to the next exciting thing right around the corner.
