Astrological Weather Highlights May 2026
If you are reading this then we can say we made through the once in a lifetime pile up of planets in Aries that aligned April 2026! Yaaya! Congratulations!!
On the flip side of one of the most action packed challenging months of 2026 we’ve got one of my favorites… if not my favorite month coming through in May. Not that it’s not action packed like the previous month but there is a bit of a respite con pretty rad sequence of transits I’m very stoked about. The shoulder beginning and ends of the month are a little less eventful so we will proceed right into the activities… lets dig in!

This groovy chain of events starts with the Sun in Taurus sextile over to exalted Jupiter in Cancer at 20° on May 10th then continues in the same rhythm with Mercury in Taurus sextile Jupiter in Cancer also at 20° on May 14th. The indulgent sensuality of this Earth Sun in Taurus is harmonizing wonderfully with abundant, bountiful, caring, and giving Jupiter in Cancer; then is soon further soothed with Mercury in Taurus offering up mas sweet and cohesive conversations, song, concepts, and dealings.
This increases even further on May 14th with Mercury Cazimi in Taurus at 22°. This blending of the Sun and Mercury in fixed Earth Taurus makes the songs we sing, the cooperative communication, any marketplace sales, plus traversing the land absolutely glorious. I wouldn’t say Mercury in Taurus is very speedy or agile in Mercurial undertakings- especially when combust approaching the Cazimi. But when emblazoned in gold during the Cazimi especially with the sextile still activated from exalted Jupiter in Cancer look for things to be phenomenal.

The main event for this first chunk in the chain of transits is the New Moon in Taurus at 25° on May 16th. Mercury is still close enough to be considered Cazimi conjunct the Sun though separating in combustion so it’s probably a little fried but is a great new start to the Taurian parts of our lives none the less. Mars conjunct Chiron in Aries at 26° also comes through that day; being the ruler of Aries this is very potent and, in a way, puts an exclamation mark on the previous New Moon from April that occurred at 27°. Whatever came through being started then has the drive and force of Mars in Aries in its favor and to some extent encourages implementing more of the magic of Chiron there emphasizing the energy from last month’s stellium as well.

There is no resting now with Mercury moving into its home air sign of Gemini on May 17th then the same day Mercury conjuncts Uranus in Gemini at 1°. Some would say that Uranus is the higher octave Mercury in many ways operating in the same manner though more erratic and extreme. Though this is true to some extent there is a lot more to the story. In this case Mercury in its home Air sign works very nimbly and is quite attuned to multitudes of information; then with Uranus in the mix newly back in Gemini there can be quite the tornado of ideas, left field happenings, bringing about out of know where innovations. I’m very excited about this one… put on your thinking caps and buckle up for a wild ride… the mind and conversations can be very to overly stimulated… but there is a chance to catch lightning in a bottle here if we have our wits about us with a revolution at hand creating effects of great magnitudes.
The same day Venus in Gemini is sextile Chiron in Aries still conjunct Mars at 28°. With the Mars Chiron conjunctions continual presence this builds off what came through during the Taurus New Moon the day before. Also that Venus is copresent the Mercury Uranus conjunction in Gemini adds yet another layer of nuance. With the Venus copresence right after a New Moon in a Venus ruled sign and the sextile being of the nature of Venus, ideas born now could be worth bizzlions.

On May 18th the Venus Mars themes continue forward with the cosmic lovers sextile from Gemini to Aries at the anaretic last degree then proceeding to move forward as they both ingress in to their next signs. Each at the anaretic last degree is significant in itself plus what has been coming through for each planet the last several days increases this culminating energy greatly. That day Mars stampedes into Taurus and Venus sidewinds into Cancer. The Moon entering its home sign Cancer highlights the ingress as of importance going over Venus at 0°. The exact sextile between Venus and Mars comes though at the 0° degree of each respective sign having them kick off their transits through the next Earth and Water signs in union.

On May 19th Mercury in Gemini sextiles Neptune in Aries at 3° then trines Pluto retrograde in Aquarius at 5°. What I like about these two consecutive alignments is they in a way foreshadow the “Mini Grand Trine” Uranus in Gemini will make with these outer planets in Air/Fire signs. With Mercury at home in Gemini making this connection it is like the psychopomp Mercury has the capabilities to translate divine messages between the lord of the underworld and the emotional oceans churning within each of us.

On May 20th the Sun moves in to Gemini then two days later conjoins Uranus 1° Gemini on May 22nd. Similar to Mercury conjunct Uranus but with some different flavor, this is more electrifying our egos and identities as the heroes of our own journeys. One might receive sudden flashes of inspiration leading to the next unique step in your life or rebel to break the chains that have kept you bound in a rusty cage for far too long. Gemini is witty and clever in its thought process and remarks so I expect this to be cerebrally centered with feisty revolutionary concepts hitting home to turn the whole thing upside down moving towards a new you.
Also on May 22nd Mercury still in Gemini as well sextiles Saturn in Aries at 11° possibly furthering the cause with inquisitive exploration helping to better stay within the limits of the self before charging ahead or finding the secret escape route out past boundaries imposed on you in recent times.
