Astrological Weather Highlights October 2025

I’m a couple days earlier in the month this go! At this rate, I will be back to posting them on the 1st by the New Year hahahaa.

Welcome to October of 2025! Kudos for making it through the September Eclipse season… that was not an easy feat. In this edition of month ahead highlights we will cover the lunations plus several days of particular interest.

As we begin, I would like to make a few statements about all of the chaos we’ve collectively experienced for what seems like years and years being seen reflected in the transits etc. Humanity has always had its turmoil in what looks like a never-ending unraveling of tragedy, destruction, sorrow, and pain. Just as these themes are part of what makes our life experience human, there is also the flipside of limitless beauty, potential, joy, and awe inherent in humanity's drive forward.

There is never a time when we who follow Astrology don’t see a terrible alignment looming in the not-so-distant future. From my perspective that’s a blessing of the craft: cultivating awareness around such challenges and having a language to put words to the cycles of majestic nature through the mystical cosmos. I attempt to embrace this gift with as little fear as I can with an optimistic outlook of potential in what appears to be trouble looming just as much as when the Astro-weather is laced with obviously wonderful aspects. In many ways that can be the key, through the roughest of situations come the most splendid of opportunities.

In this slight detour the point I’m intending to get across is congratulations for being here now through resilience, as this life for the most part is not an easy one, and there will be great difficulties ahead as indicated by the planets and apparent in the current global social fabric on almost all fronts. Despite this, it's a great fortune to live another bright day and experience the dark night Earth-bound souls have incarnated in this era to be a component of. You matter; you’re here for a reason; this is your life just as much as anyone else’s alive. It is our world to cocreate with the Universal source that loves us dearly. We can do great things together when we collectively believe. If we apply ourselves towards such a humanity, it is ours to actualize on Earth. I applaud our valiant accomplishments in the face of the daunting challenges, knowing there is an even more amazing existence to become through enduring the at times terrifying process. Alright…rant over!!!

First I would like to go over October 7th, with the Aries Full Moon happening that night at 14° degrees. What is extra intriguing about this day is Mercury moves into Scorpio that morning, no longer copresent a fallen Sun in Libra who will soon be opposed by the Moon in fiery cardinal Aries, and now copresent Mars at home in Scorpio, also ruling Aries its other home sign. The shift has nuanced expressions lurking in the shadows, with Mercury becoming more penetrating in conversations hinting at subtle sexual innuendos, having harsh discussions with stinging words that slice to the bone, investigating the crime scene while also paranoid of implications that could be framed, and cutting the crap of shallow talk to get to the deep root of the darkest topics.

A big part of how this Full Moon shows up is acknowledging Venus ruling over Libra is fallen in Virgo and just went over the south node of the Moon. Looking ahead to October 8th Mercury copresent Mars in Scorpio squares Pluto retrograde Aquarius while the Moon is still driving through Aries. When Mercury enters Scorpio it is already only a degree away from making the exact square so it is very much present during the lunation and is building up to being exact. From my point of view this is a huge factor in how this Full Moon could play out.

Next up I want to address a few days towards the middle of the month starting with October 13th when Venus enters its air home sign of Libra now copresent and ruling the fallen Sun. This can be a relief if Venus fallen in Virgo has been cramping your Venusian flow. Aphrodite hosting a Sun struggling to shine in the trenches helps tremendously in shedding greater light moving forward. It isn’t all that easy of an ingress though going from opposing Saturn retrograde in Pisces a couple of days prior to then opposing Neptune retrograde in Aries right away upon entrance. Some simultaneous silver linings include the Moon at home in Cancer goes over exalted Jupiter at the same time as the Venus ingress, with newly ingressed Venus trining over to Pluto in Aquarius stationing direct the same day.

The Moon also accents a Grand Water Trine present the entire month, making aspects to Lilith in Scorpio and Saturn Rx Pisces as it coasts through the conjunction to Jupiter. The following day on October 14th, Venus moves through trines to Uranus Rx Gemini and makes the exact trine aspect to freshly direct Pluto in Aquarius at an apparent standstill. This means over these couple of days there is Grand Water Trine action as well as Grand Air Trine action, illustrating a great deal of synergistic flow. With both of these elemental modalities being characterized as “moist” the events currently are very wet with emotional dimension and intellectually saturated with cohesive thought.

Before we move on to the second lunation of the month, it is worth noting on October 17th we have the fallen Sun in Libra squaring exalted Jupiter in Cancer and Chiron retrograde in Aries. The Sun is already having some trouble leaning towards people-pleasing tendencies while in Libra and this is exacerbating any reassessments of Chiron’s diagnosis through retrograde motion surrounding wounded drive of self-expression. These two challenging placements squaring each other are totally putting a damper on the buoyant abundance and good feelings flowing via Jupiter in Cancer. That day Cancer's ruling planet the Moon goes over its South Node in Virgo reflecting it being a time of unconscious happenings, default programming, futile efforts, and diminishing waste. Though troubling its spiritual undercurrents have deep roots flowing effortlessly as if on autopilot.

The second lunation of the month occurs on October 21st with the New Moon in Libra at 28° degrees being ruled by Venus copresent in its own air abode. The T-Square including Cancer Jupiter and Aries Chiron Rx is very much active even if several degrees away. I would say this is the main flavor of the Libra New Moon making it a tough one. Something continuing from the day before I like is the current influence of Mercury conjunct Mars at home in Scorpio at 20° applying to conjunct Lilith in the coming days. The planets in Scorpio activate the Grand Water Trine featuring Jupiter Cancer and Saturn Rx Pisces creating fluid harmony offering some under the surface support.

The final stretch of aspects I would like to cover this month begins the following day after the New Moon. On October 22nd Neptune retrogrades back into Pisces, swimming through familiar waters of the sign it’s said to rule from a "modern" context. During that time it is quincunx the fallen Sun in Libra at the anaretic last degree of the sign represented by the scales. This makes an extra nebulous unclear vision in relation to others and a sense of self extending from the recent T-square + New Moon.

When evening rolls around the Sun transitions into Scorpio joining ruling planet Mars at home plus the Moon and Mercury about to conjunct Lilith at 23° on October 23rd. What's making this extra amplified is the Moon moving through Scorpio goes over Mercury and Lilith mere arc minutes away from exactly forming a triple conjunction with Mars ruling over all this only a couple degrees away at 21°. This is a very potent moment and day with all 3 in such an exact alignment. Probing hidden dilemmas of inequality brings dark dynamics out in the open. New awareness of information can be destructive, but the rubble left over is the breeding ground for transformation.

What makes it even that much more of an epic time is all the above feeds into the omnipresent Grand Water Trine happening all month, inflating its significance more prominently when Mercury exacts the trine to exalted Jupiter in Cancer at 24° on October 24th. The same day the Sun in Scorpio squares Pluto in Aquarius at 1°, with both planets’ rulers as two out of three parts of the Grand Water Trine illustrating the tension showing up is actually the tension needed to receive the greatest return from channeling the synergizing water siphon.
