Year Ahead Astrological Weather Highlights 2026
It should go without saying we’re coming out of and continuing to move through tumultuous unprecedented times towards a future that will undergo changes to an extent humanity has yet to fathom. 2026 without a doubt will be phenomenal seeing shifts that have been a long time coming. We’re setting the stage for the next developmental phases that will play out for generations bringing closure to what has been though in turn opening new doors of perception as portals to the plausible. What lays ahead will be anything but ordinary by today’s standards giving a chance to tap into unrealized possibilities here on Earth. It appears even without consulting the Astrology humanity is on the brink of a great threshold both foundationally and fundamentally integral to how life on our home planet continues to unravel and expand.
As many Astrologers, if not all have unanimously indicated, the great and very rare outer planetary shifts we've begun to experience has only scratched the surface in 2025 and will enter the point of no return as they make their final ingresses into Air/Fire signs. With Pluto already fully settled in to Aquarius for the next two decades, in 2026 we will have Uranus reenter Gemini and Neptune joined by Saturn going back into Aries making their ways in to their respective signs for the remainder of their long-drawn-out yet tremendously impactful transits. As these transitions take place we launch forth from experiencing their archetypal potentiality as expressions grounded in Earth and anchored in Water to experiencing the fire spinning whirlwind we embark upon in 2026.
Our overarching transpersonal collective experience moves from one that is emotional and material to one that is intellectual and action oriented. This means the collective will move away from more inwardly drawn nature to catapulting up towards outward direction. Deep diving through the psychic waters combined with earthy rational practicality is traded for socially innovative breakthroughs with the passion to take the status quo further.
A part of what makes this so potent is the synchronicity of all these planets occupying early degrees of the respective Air/Fire signs. Such an elaborate outer planet line up is extremely uncommon. They feed each other like wind to a flame circulating the heightened energy increasing each archetypal domain exponentially. We even have Jupiter entering Leo touting more firepower really getting the circulation going midyear. Synergy coming from so many outer planets in Air/Fire featuring Aquarius, Aries, Gemini, and Leo surges through the collective this year into the future as a window portal of gigantic proportions. It is extremely likely that by mid-summer when these alignments come to perfect we’ll have seen, be seeing, and have things developing towards some of the biggest breakthroughs of our lifetimes and thus far.
With as astonishing of a planetary configuration as we’ll have in 2026 it can definitely can come through on profound personal levels if you have planets or sensitive degree points at the early degrees of Air/Fire signs or a prominent aspect to them. Make sure to check your natal chart to be aware of what areas of life this transpires through.

The first transit of the year I want to make sure to note is a pile up of planets in Aquarius conjunct Pluto at 3° . It starts off with the Moon leading the way on January 18th going over Pluto as Venus is applying to make the conjunction the next day on January 19th. A couple of days later on January 21st there is a Mercury Cazimi at 2° of Aquarius just a degree away from Pluto and for all intents and purposes is already a triple conjunction. The next day on January 22nd Mercury conjuncts Pluto first then the Sun later in the day still qualifying as a triple conjunction. January 26th, we have Neptune’s final ingress into Aries being a huge highlight of 2026. This is especially pertinent to the Pluto Aquarius planetary pile up because Aires ruler Mars conjuncts Pluto the next day on January 27th closing out the planetary parade over the lord of the underworld. That Mars makes this conjunction to Pluto following the Neptune's final ingress into the sign of the Ram says a lot about the nature of how this transit will likely continue to play out over the coming years.
As February gets underway we have Saturn reentering its fall in Aires on February 13th for the final time joining back up with Neptune recently making its final ingress into the cardinal fire sign as well. Then on February 19th we have the Moon going over Saturn and Neptune in Aries right as they are about to conjunct making a triple conjunction and reflecting the prominence of this alignment at this time. The exact Saturn Neptune conjunction perfects on February 20th at 1°. All this month and echoing into the rest of the year this conjunction is a major theme... with them aligning so closely then sextile Pluto Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini to make the "mini grand trine" magnifies this that much more.

In April we have another extreme planetary pile up this time occurring in Aries. By April 15th through April 16th we have the Moon, Mercury, Neptune, Mars, Saturn, the Sun, and Chiron all in Aries. On April 15th the Sun conjuncts Chiron at 26° then on April 17th we have the Aries New Moon at 27° still close enough to be considered conjunct Chiron. For these few days there's a huge emphasis on the wounded self and the process of healing our drive in how we assert ourselves with the possibility to reemerge on the New Moon with a certain rebirth renewal of this process. For me the Aries New Moon is one of the most potent as far as planting seeds to start something and with this Chiron here in my opinion is huge. From there we have a rapid fire line up to make another triple conjunction with Mars exactly conjunct Saturn at 7° on April 19th, Mercury Saturn exactly conjunct at 7° on April 20th, and finally Mercury and Mars exactly at 9° on April 21st. Over these few days we have a triple conjunction coming through from 7-9 ° of Aries blending these planetary archetypes. This is a very intense activation especially with all the Aries energy flowing throughout the month. With Mars being the ruler of Aries shows us further how prominent of an impact this transit will have on the current narrative and in away this is the climax of the Aries dominant expression we’ve been experiencing. The final thing to note for April is also a big one with Uranus reentering Gemini for the next 7 years. We move from a fixed earth expression of Uranus which is in many ways the antithesis of the energy the planet of sudden change brings, to a mutable air expression that is much more in alignment with how Uranus usually shows up.

We will now skip ahead to June 29th when Jupiter enters Leo. This Jupiter is very generous and joyful in its abundance and how it is given to others. With this placement the heart is ginormous, and it may be important that one doesn’t go overboard in how they shower others with love. Artistry and theatrics come effortlessly at this time, and we have the courage to radiate our gifts to the world. Jupiter is often referred to as the teacher or guru and when in Leo it has great leadership and mentorship capabilities with its solar optimism. The flip side of this solar fixed fire Jupiter would be to not base one’s identity and happiness off of outside validation. This energy can be ridged in its perspective when challenged. Just because others may not see things in your same light it doesn’t have to take away from how you shine yours. Genuine connection is key not just admiration and feeding the hunger for applause. Do your best to live up to your responsibilities to others and avoid pettiness. Be wary of giving too much and self-aggrandizement while still displaying unshakable confidence with sincere generosity. To expand at this time we must radiate positivity, healthy pride, find our own joy, and be the best you that you can be.

July is a huge month starting off with Mars conjunct Uranus at 3° Gemini on the 4th of July. This combo is extremely volatile with outcomes possibly being catastrophic. The hostile aggressive force of Mars mixed with revolutionary erratic innovation of Uranus can be not only be a loose cannon but also the push that turns the page of social dynamics ripe for change.
It should be noted whatever has been shaken up at the core so far gets taken much further July 15th and July 17th when Uranus in Gemini make its sextile to Neptune Aries then trine to Pluto retrograde Aquarius creating what some refer to as a “mini grand trine” at 4°. This is most likely the biggest signature alignment of 2026 and as has been noted will have ramifications that resonate out for years and years to come. The way these transpersonal outer planets are working together collaboratively will be life changing for us mentally and socially in gigantic proportions for decades if not centuries to come.
As if that wasn’t enough the plot thickens even further on July 20th when Jupiter in Leo opposes Pluto retrograde in Aquarius at 4° making this Air/Fire combination that much more dynamic expanding outward. All of the above included in such a long-drawn-out cataclysmic transit has been building in tension for some time as it applies meaning things have probably been evident how the archetypes are showing up then leading to the actual transit alignment event.
On July 26th the nodes of the Moon move backwards into Aquarius and Leo. Now with the North Node(Ketu) in Aquarius and the South Node(Rahu) in Leo there is a great magnetism to the erratic unique distant genius and a kind of draining away from the personal warm individual grandiose. This is a shift in the karmic developmental cycle we all go through as we experience Eclipses switching over to these signs ushers in where we will see things come to an end then starting fresh with rebirth. Another way to look at this would be there is a cup runneth over effect in the Aquarian area of our charts and a leak in the bucket of the Leo parts of the chart. I could write a whole piece on this, and maybe I will, but what I’ll leave you with here is make sure to pay special attention to this change if you have prominent placements or points in Aquarius or Leo and really any of the fixed signs for that matter.
To close out the month we have the Sun conjunct Jupiter at 6° Leo on July 29th on the same day as the Full Moon in Aquarius at 6°, only 2° away from Pluto retrograde and for all intents and purposes I considered conjunct at the time. Even though it’s not close enough to be considered an Eclipse yet, it is curious that this lunation occurs only a few days after the nodes slipped back in to these signs and definitely do contribute to the karmic conversation of what will continue to play out. During this Full Moon there is a tug of war between the Lord of the Underworld and the God of the Sky. Tensions and potential energy are extremely high here and undoubtable will build off whatever has come to fruition from the humongous intensity we had come through earlier in July.

As August gets under way we do have the first New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo on August 12th at 20° since the nodes switched. Something important to consider with Eclipses and lunations in general is the Sun ruling over Leo being a part of the equation makes the connotations that much more impactful for the sign of the Lion. At this time there is still a Grand Air Trine present including Venus in Libra, Uranus in Gemini, and Pluto retrograde in Aquarius all circulating in unison intellectual, communicative, and social stimulation. The secret ingredients we have here are two kites coming through featuring Mercury Leo and Neptune retrograde Aries as the focal points of these configurations. That there are these two kites with the apex sextile each gives us a clue that these two planets and how they are interacting will be key during the Solar Eclipse and overall at this time.
During August, we have another Eclipse with this one being a Pisces Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 4° on August 27th. This is a very exciting Eclipse when considering it is opposite a Virgo Mercury Sun conjunction being Cazimi plus the lunation being square Uranus Gemini at 5°. The Cazimi showcases an exalted Mercury in Virgo strengthening an already dignified planet in traditional terms. This can show up as an earthy Mercury being elevated and imbued in golden light with a Midas touch. The Pisces Lunar Eclipse itself is one of the final super lunation events in a series of Eclipses we’ve been experiencing featuring the Pisces/Virgo axis and will be transitioning completely to Aquarius/Leo soon enough. This means whatever had been coming through the Pisces North Node karmic narrative is reaching its final stages in development and ultimately is now coming to an end. Look back at the previous Pisces Eclipses to reference what has been coming through the Pisces part of your chart and what the karmic developmental shift has meant for you. If we add in the Uranus Gemini component squaring the Eclipse there is an erratic out of nowhere element that could look like a rebellious concept presented or technological snafus occurring to name a couple of possibilities. The point I want to make clear here is the Uranus Gemini component is the tension that will likely bring about brilliant ideas, bright precision, or piercing focus in with the Virgo Cazimi or the shattering of illusions, reflecting a unity in multiplicity, or how we now have an universal awareness around compassion for all in the Pisces Lunar Eclipse.

We will now skip a few months ahead to November 11th when Jupiter in Leo is on the South Node at 25°. The expansion of Jupiter can be diminished as the South Node can indicate a decreasing or vacuum kind of energy. It can also show deep spiritual conditions, unconscious tendencies, and latent gifts we came into this incarnation with. Like everything in life and Astrology, this can be a double-edged sword; there is the potential to capture the magic juxtapose the challenges of luck falling through the creases of one’s hands trying to cup it. With Leo it can be brilliant light or the blaze that blisters. When considering Leo it is always key to give life and shed light on the world around it as the highest expression verses burning its surroundings or hogging all the light for the self.
November 15th, Mars joins Jupiter on the South Node in Leo still at 25°. Mars’ tenacious drive mixed with expansive optimism of Jupiter can have a ton of fight in it and really push things to the next level. Some not so great qualities of this combo could be not looking before you jump into something full blast or being overly pushy and assertive without consideration of others. That this conjunction is in Leo there can be a very bright visible expression of this that could assert great generosity or be dramatic in overboard theatrics to a fault. With this alignment happening right on the South Node of the Moon lets us know there may be a diminishing reduction of the available energy as well as the efforts channeled being diffuse and dissipating. Another couple of characteristics I think are important to consider with the South Node would be it is a very spiritual and karmic point. Events and traits can seem fated being both unconscious and unescapable while laced with layers of deep meaning.

The last pair of dates I want to denote are two Grand Fire Trines coming through within a week having the first occur on December 17th and the second December 22nd. They both will feature Jupiter retrograde Leo trine over to Chiron retrograde Aries at 25° having the Sun Sagittarius complete the grand trine on the December 17th then Mercury moving through to complete it on December 22nd. To me these consecutive Grand Fire Trines at the end of the year are worth highlighting to leave things on a positive note. Reintegrating the wounded assertive function is working strongly with the reassessments of our creative confidence and how we shine our positivity and generosity. The Sagittarius Sun moves through first really lighting up the solar function of Jupiter in Leo since it is the signs ruling planet and there is mutual reception with Jupiter ruling Sagittarius. Positive perspectives shine bright as we gaze upon what’s possible on the horizon. Our sense of individual self despite wounding burns strong containing an abundance to give others towards healing similar pain found in them. When Mercury in Sagittarius makes the grand trine we might not be looking at the detail very close but our philosophical understanding of the overarching process makes up for it and may be exactly what the doctor ordered. We speak our truth loud. Despite possibly saying too much this frankness is likely a necessary remedy in the next action steps to being our fullest selves allowing us to see and support the same in others.
